Wooden Boat Festival

August 21-24, 2014

Home to the first and largest Wooden Boat Festival in North America, and now a year-round destination and resource for wooden boat enthusiasts worldwide, the Wooden Boat Foundation is located at the Northwest Maritime Center adjacent to the entrance to Point Hudson marina (home of the Wooden Boat Festival) and in the heart of the historic and civic district of downtown Port Townsend. Marinas and boatyards, boatshops, expert craftspeople from sailmakers and riggers to woodworking and art are within walking distance in our waterfront community.

Hapa-Palooza Festival

September 2014

Hapa-Palooza: A Vancouver Celebration of Mixed-Roots Arts and Ideas is a new cultural festival that celebrates the city’s identity as a place of hybridity, synergy and acceptance. A vibrant fusion of music, dance, literary, artistic and film performances, Hapa-Palooza places prominence on celebrating and stimulating awareness of mixed-roots identity, especially amongst youth .

Vancouver Fringe Festival

September 4-14, 2014

Every year the Fringe delivers an eclectic mix of theatrical offerings
consisting of over 500 performances by more than 65 different groups over 11 days.

The Vancouver Fringe Festival is Vancouver's premier theatre festival, dedicated to its mission of providing "Theatre for Everyone". The 11-day Fringe Festival draws crowds of over 35,000 each year and brings together performers from local, national and international theatre companies in traditional and non-traditional venues. Book your accommodations and join the festival on and around Granville Island. Parking is very limited so alternative transportation is a must! Also close to the Cruise Ship Terminals.

Terry Fox Run

September 14, 2014

The iconic image of Terry running along long and lonely roads during the 143 days of his Marathon of Hope does not convey the full picture of that historic effort. If the photographer were to widen his lens, there would appear the tens, hundreds, even thousands of Canadians lining those very roads cheering Terry on and taking inspiration from his example.

Ambleside Park Salmon Festival

September 2014

AmblesideNow will celebrate the return of the salmon to the North Shore at the Coho Festival. The festival is held on the second Sunday after Labour Day each year. Several thousand people attend this event to take in exhibits in the sustainability zone, enjoy outdoor entertainment by the water in Ambleside Park, participate in children’s activities and enjoy the famous salmon barbecue (Wild Alaskan Salmon, which is in abundant supply). The festival is also a venue for Coho Kids to raise funds for salmonid programs in the classroom.

Vancouver Film Festival

September 25 - October 10, 2014

The popular Vancouver Film Festival offers challenging and original content.

Vancouver International Comedy Festival

September 25 - 27, 2014

The Annual Vancouver International Comedy Festival will take place on beautiful Granville Island in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Our adult evening shows will bring comedy’s finest and funniest to Vancouver . With stand-up, sketch, musical comedy and more, there will be something for every taste.

Once again we will welcome some of the most skilled magic-making, fire-juggling, tight-rope-walking, joke-telling, singing and dancing performers in the world to our two outdoor venues—Triangle Square and Market Courtyard—for free outdoor performances. Fun for the whole family! Again parking is limited so alternative transportation is recommended!
